OpenAI wants to get you hired, what does this mean for LinkedIn and other job platforms?
š Hi and welcome to Brighteye Bulletin - your fortnightly take on all things in Edtech, HRTech and Talent Empowerment, both from a Startup & VC perspectives.
Articles and Resources of the week
Last weekās announcement from Fidji Simo highlighted two new key initiatives from the organisation:
OpenAI Jobs Platform: designed to connect AI-skilled professionals with employers.
OpenAI Certifications: modular credentials to help people upskill and demonstrate competence in AI.
As Claire Zau highlights, while some see this move as a direct challenge to LinkedIn, it may ultimately function more as a complementary tool: a proof-of-skills layer rather than a replacement for professional networking. The true impact wonāt be clear until launch in mid-2026. Still, the ambition is unmistakable, āOpenAI wants to own not just the AI assistant, but the very definition of competence in the AI eraā.
Inside Replit's path to $100M ARR
Replitās AI agent has created 2M+ apps in 6 months, with 100k live in production. That momentum helped it scale from $10M to $100M ARR in 2025, driven by 45% MoM subscriber growth.
Key levers for this cited by CEO Amjad Masad being:
UX: āIdea-to-appā in minutes, blending natural language + code.
Growth: Simple pricing ($25/mo + usage credits), quick activation prompts, and constant A/B testing.
Team: Just ~65 people, leaning on generalists and sales engineers to show value live.
A worthwhile read for anyone tracking how AI-native products can reshape growth models, UX, and team structure.
